Chœur Maha flexes its feminist voice in an evening of music, dancing and comradery. Get energized with us. Renewal. Resistance. RebELLES.  

The Conféderation des Syndicaux Nationaux has invited Chœur Maha to sing at a cocktail hour event in celebration of International Women's Day.

A group of 20 Maha members sang for the hundreds of participants in the "Be the Change" event on December 9th.  Here we are!

     

We have been asked to perform Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah for the Montreal based Global Citizen event for equality for girls and women.

One of our members is a filmmaker and completed a gorgeous document of Choeur Maha's tour to the Métis Gardens and Gaspé in 2015.  We performed songs written and directed by Kathy Kennedy in and amongst the flowers.  Here it is!

We have had so much interest and enthusiasm.  It is very exciting.  We do, however, need to not be too big due to space and the Maha sense of close-knit community.

If you love to sing challenging and stimulating music from around the world, want a sense of women's community, AND you are available every Tuesday evening during the upcoming school year, why don't you audition for Maha?

Megan Batty charmed us in her interview, and further impressed us during her audition.  She is a graduate student at McGill in Feminist studies and Musicology, having recently completed Bachelor degrees in Education and Music.

We will be auditioning for our new season which has the theme of Resistance/Revolution at the end of August and beginning of September.

This event involves a tour of 4 different apartments in Rosemont Petite-Patrie.  Maha will be stationed in one of the apartments and ready to charm their audience with a short concert.
